2013 Game Of The Year

So a new year begins and we leave a year of gaming behind which leaves the questions;

What was the best game of 2013?

The year was a great time for gaming bringing amazing blockbusters and new series to the PlayStation and Xbox.

My game of the year?

The Last Of Us

The Last Of Us exclusively for PlayStation 3 is a new series for PlayStation and with many expecting a sequel to come to the PlayStation 4, the game was a true success.

A pandemic has radically changed known civilization. Twenty years later, infected humans run wild and survivors are killing each other for food, weapons, or whatever they can get their hands on.
Joel, a ruthless survivor, is hired to smuggle a 14 year-old girl, Ellie, out of an oppressive military quarantine zone, but what starts as a simple job soon transforms into a profound journey across the U.S.
What does it take to survive in the brutal yet beautiful world that is The Last of Us? This is what players will be faced with at every turn as they embark on an epic journey with Joel and Ellie that will explore the depths of humanity and push them to the limits of human perseverance.

The graphics of this game a truly out of this world. The story is a gripping and emotional story that I just fell in love with and left me wanting more.

Will there be a sequel soon?

We can all hope so. If you haven't tried this game then you are missing out!

PlayStation 4 Unboxing

I'd like to share with you my unboxing of my new PlayStation 4.
I was looking forward to the next generation console for such a long time and just couldn't wait!
I pre-ordered the PlayStation 4 from Game, Merry Hill and went up for the UK midnight launch on the 29th November 2013.
It was such a great experience as everyone was really exciting and couldn't wait to walk out with their brand new console.

Greatness Awaits

PlayStation 4 raises the bar and sets a new level for gaming. Unbelievable power has been put in to the PS4 and with such a great line up of games currently out and coming in the future.

So, Let's unbox my PlayStation 4 - 4ThePlayers

As you can see here is PS4 packaging box and my copy of Killzone Shadow Fall that i ordered along side the console. The box itself shows I have Assassins Creed inside.
Let's take a look inside at the hardware.

So now opening the box we can see the contents inside. Top right we can the booklets that come with the console such as terms and conditions and information on PS Plus and Health & Safety.
Bottom right we can see the new dualshock 4; a great new addition to the PlayStation controllers
The new controller improves upon the dualshock 3 with amazing new features with one including the new touch pad to be used in games and the playroom.
Centre of the photo we can see my new console; the amazing PlayStation 4.
Let's go closer.

Here we have the PlayStation 4; the new generation, most power gaming console ever made.
It's such a great console with an amazing line up of games. Not only is it amazing inside but look how great it looks on the outside too! A fresh look for PlayStation and it's a welcome addition to the family.

The new dualshock 4; new controller for a new console.
This has so many improvements upon the dualshock 3 and adds a whole heap of new features.
I must admit I always swayed in the direction of the Xbox 360 controller over the dualshock 3 but Sony have done such a great job and this controller is better than ever; it feels so comfortable in your hand and the new triggers fit perfectly in your fingers!
The most obvious of add ons is the new touch pad to be used in games and used with the new playroom
Also, the new share button is a useful the console captures game play as your playing and you can save and upload your clips whenever you like.

So,What do you think of the PlayStation 4? Got yours yet?

Most Anticipated Indie Game of 2014?

Moving on from my last post, I would like to talk more about indie games as sometimes they don't really get enough credit. Many indie games are of high quality with rich gameplay.

With such a small price and in some cases free of charge, they are definitely worth a try with a lot of enjoyable and heart stopping moments.

We have already seen many indie games come out for next gen in their launch windows such as:

● Resogun
● Contrast
● War Thunder
● Don't Starve

So, what is my most anticipated indie game for 2014?

Outlast is a survival horror video game developed and published by Red Barrels Games, a company founded by people previously involved with video games such as Prince of PersiaAssassin's CreedSplinter Cell and Uncharted. It was released on September 4, 2013 for Microsoft Windows and scheduled for a PlayStation 4 release on February 5, 2014 (we're so close now)
Outlast is a first-person survival horror game set in an asylum. The main character, Miles Upshur, is incapable of combat, except for certain scripted sequences in which he pushes enemies away. To navigate the environment, the character is able to climb to ledges, vault over low obstacles, crawl, and slide in narrow gaps. Except for vaulting, enemies are incapable of any of these manoeuvres, which gives the player a certain edge. In addition, the player can survive encounters with the inmates by hiding inside of lockers or under beds, although certain enemies may search the room and attempt to locate the player for a short time before moving on.
Since much of the asylum is dark, the player must use Miles' video camera to see, thanks to its night vision function. Using night vision consumes batteries, replacements of which are scattered throughout the environment.

I first became known of this game when watching my most favourite youtuber "TheRadBrad"  and thought that this game was one of a kind. I love playing and watching horror survival games and movies and this got me hooked straight away! I can't wait to play it for myself on my PlayStation 4 and it's just around the corner now!

Look Scary? Wait until you try it!

What's your favourite indie game out now? & Which are you looking forward to most?

Most Anticipated Game Of 2014?

What better way to kick off my blog than with some excitement for the coming year of gaming!

What's your most anticipated game of 2014?
There has been so many announcements of new and upcoming games coming to current and next gen consoles.
Looking forward to some indie games or blockbuster sale record breakers!

My most anticipated game of 2014 has got to be:

The Division

Tom Clancy's The Division is an upcoming online multiplayer third person tactical shooter action role playing game developed by UbisoftMassive under the Tom Clancy brand for the PlayStation 4Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
Gameplay revolves around a post-apocalyptic New York City, with players exploring the devastated city while under fire from opposing groups.
Many of 2014's games coming to next gen seem to be open world massive multiplayer games and this one for me takes the crown and i can't to dive in to this new world.
The Division is inspired by Operation Dark Winter and Directive 51, real-world events which "revealed how vulnerable we've become"; society has become "fragile" and "complex". In the game, a disease that spreads on Black Friday causes the United States to collapse in five days. The player is part of a group called "Strategic Homeland Division (SHD)", called "The Division" for short. This group was established to combat the threat and do whatever it takes to "save what remains" in a massive multiplayer online situation, putting them against friends, AI, and other players.

More Scenes From The Division

Close contenders for me involve:

The Elder Scrolls Online
● Uncharted 4
● Infamous Second Son
● The Crew
● Outlast
● Watchdogs
● The Order 1886
● Destiny

Let me know what you think will be an amazing game for 2014!
